Group highlights from DNP 2026

Three group presentations at DNP 2026 explored jet structure, energy loss in nuclear matter, and precision energy correlations.

Audience and stage at the 2026 APS Division of Nuclear Physics meeting in Philadelphia.

Members of our group presented three talks at the 2026 APS Division of Nuclear Physics Fall Meeting in Philadelphia this October. The presentations covered precision studies of electron-positron collisions and how energetic particles lose energy in hot nuclear matter.

Kuan (Luke) Lu presented a study of azimuthal asymmetry inside jets using archived ALEPH electron-positron collision data at 91.2 GeV. His work examines how particles are distributed around the jet axis, looking more closely at the structure within jets.

Jo Dias presented work extending the ezQuench framework to describe flavor-dependent energy loss across collision systems. This effort explores how different types of partons lose energy as they pass through the quark-gluon plasma.

Yi (Luna) Chen gave an invited talk on precision measurements of energy-energy correlations in hadronic Z boson decays in electron-positron collisions. These measurements study how energy is distributed between pairs of particles, providing tests of the strong interaction using archived collider data.

We had a great showing at the conference!
